Italian fashion house Gucci is being called out by netizens for selling a ‘floral embroidery organic linen kaftan’ which looks like a kurta, for a whopping $3500, which comes to more than Rs 2.5 lakhs. The Desi people on Twitter have a lot to say about the ‘linen kaftan’ which is ‘made in Italy’. The outfit has floral embroidery and self-tie tassels, very similar to the Kashida embroidery native to Jammu & Kashmir. There is an option of buying the product in monthly instalments as well. *LOL*
There are lots of reactions on Twitter where people are alleging cultural appropriation, and ofcourse that price tag is angering many folks.
